Syringe accessory / Luer-Lok\u2122 tip cap

Description

BD Luer-Lok™ Sterile Syringe Tip Caps (SKU 305819) are blue, individually packaged, sterile, single-use caps designed to fit standard BD Luer-Lok™ syringes. They provide a secure closure that helps minimize touch-contamination and protects the contents of prefilled or prepared syringes during storage and transportation. Each box contains 200 polypropylene, latex-free caps supplied in sterile individual packs.

Composition

Medical-grade polypropylene (cap body).
Does not contain natural rubber latex (latex-free).

Device type: sterile, single-use Luer-Lok™ syringe tip cap.
Connection type: Luer tip compatible with BD Luer-Lok™ syringes.

Application: general use syringe tip protection.

Packaging

Individually wrapped sterile tip caps.
200 caps per box.
2000 caps per case (10 boxes of 200).
Box dimensions approximately 11.5 cm (L) x 8.5 cm (W) x 9.6 cm (H) as per BD packaging specification.

Usage

Verify that the packaging of the tip cap is intact and within its expiry date before use.
Open the individual sterile pack using aseptic technique.
Holding the syringe by the barrel, align the BD Luer-Lok™ tip of the syringe with the internal thread of the tip cap.
Twist the cap onto the Luer-Lok™ syringe tip until it is firmly seated and secure.
Avoid touching the open end of the cap or the syringe tip to maintain sterility.
Keep the capped syringe in accordance with local medication storage policies until use.
Remove the cap immediately before syringe connection or injection by twisting and pulling straight off.
Discard the used tip cap immediately in an appropriate sharps or clinical waste container; do not reuse.

Contraindications

Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged, opened, or compromised.
Not intended for use with non-Luer-Lok™ or incompatible syringe connectors.
Do not reuse or resterilize; single-use only.
Do not use as a substitute for appropriate needleless connectors or infusion line end caps where required by local protocols.

Adverse Effects

No direct pharmacological adverse effects; device-related risk is minimal when used as directed.
Potential risk of contamination or infection if aseptic technique is not followed or if used from damaged packaging.
Possible leakage or loss of sterility if cap is not fully secured to the syringe tip.

Storage Conditions

Store in a clean, dry environment at room temperature, away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
Keep in original packaging until use to maintain sterility.
Protect from moisture and physical damage.
Follow any additional storage instructions provided on the manufacturer’s outer packaging.

Not applicable \u2013 device used transiently to protect syringe tips during preparation, storage, and transport; single-use only.

Onset

Immediate mechanical protection and sealing upon proper application to the Luer-Lok\u2122 syringe tip.
